After graduating from the University of Vermont, Linda Simmons-Arnold attended the Cornish Institute in Seattle and the New England School of Art in Boston. She began painting at the age of nineteen while pursuing a career in science. She works in pastel, watercolor, and oil.
She writes: My major interest at this point is the natural world and the emotions I bring to portraying it. To bring a sense of my individual response to water, wind, trees, light, and colour.
