Jacqueline Wilson
Six of Jacqueline Wilson’s woodcut of birds will be on display. Each print is alive with the energy of the cuts in the wood: broad, deep cuts; narrow cuts defining the shape or a wing or an eye; various flecks and gouges. The vigorous cuts and designs, and the artist’s sensitivity to the emerging forms, give life to the bird; and this sense of life inherent in the bird gives energy back to the work as a whole.
