Louis Mehaignoul

mehaignoul Louis Mehaignoul was a Belgian painter active in the middle of the twentieth century. His small pleine aire paintings catch one up in their immediacy; they capture not only the features of the landscape but also the feel of the air. Some scenes are conventionally picturesque. Others, like a wet field in late winter or early spring, are engaging precisely because the artist finds beauty and sweetness and promise in a place that could easily be passed by with little regard.
