Stany Holda
The vision of Stany Holda is sometimes harsh, sometimes gentler and more playful. The large painting on display at the gallery is of the harsh variety: a futuristic, industrial dystopia in a scraped, barren landscape. Born in Poland in 1919, Holda arrived in Belgium at the age of five. He flourished artistically at mid-century, working mostly in a surrealistmanner. His work was exhibited widely in Belgium and at the Musée d’art Moderne in Paris.
