John Bisignano proves that necessity isn’t the only mother of invention; playfulness has an equal maternal claim. His work, both two- and three-dimensional, is structurally clear and stable. It attests to a loving familiarity with many different materials, and a high order of craftsmanship. John finds inspiration in the ever-changing Maine landscape. see more..
The vision of Stany Holda is sometimes harsh, sometimes gentler and more playful. The large painting on display at the gallery is of the harsh variety: a futuristic, industrial dystopia in a scraped, barren landscape. Born in Poland in 1919, Holda arrived in Belgium at the age of five. He flourished artistically at mid-century, working mostly in a surrealist manner. His work was exhibited widely in Belgium and at the Musée d’art Moderne in Paris. see more..
Inna Besborodko works in a Russian folk iconographic tradition, which celebrates the miracles and simple kindnesses of the Virgin Mary and allows artists to take inventive, adventurous steps of kinds never seen in official icons of the Orthodox Church. Inna is a clinical psychologist who emigrated from Russia in 1992. see more..
Rockland native Jared Cowan earned his BFA at the University of Maine (Orono), with a concentration in foundry and installation art. Jared’s work often reflects an interest in psychology and the contemporary human predicament, and it often provokes a thoughtful amusement or mild perplexity. He enjoys the feel of bold color and strong line. see more..
As a teenager, Chen Sun Campbell (born Mary Letitia Fishler) painted strong, realistic, sympathetic portraits. She married and had six children. After the youngest was in school, Mary studied at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. Over the years she painted as her family duties allowed. Now she is in her eighties, and her work has become more and more abstract. see more..

In the mid-1970’s, while still in his twenties, he seems to have been honored in the Netherlands and Belgium. He is deceased. see more..
